Yosemite National Park

We were up at 3:30 AM and on the road headed for Yosemite National Park. As we headed out of San Jose for the mountains we could see the solid stream headlights from people commuting into San Jose. As we neared the park enterance we had a coyote cross the road in front of us and then walk by the car as we were stopped (too bad we didn't have a camera ready). We arrived at the park entrance at 7:30 and made our way down to the valley floor. Our first stop was a hike to Yosemite Falls were we saw a deer grazing. Next we hiked across the valley to the base of Half Dome. By now it was getting warm and our next hike was to the shuttle bus for a ride back the village for a quick lunch. For the afternoon we took a car ride to Glacier Point for a view of Vernal and Nevada falls and Half Dome. While driving to and from Glacier Point we saw several bear feeding along the road. After a full day at Yosemite we head east to Tioga Pass and on to the town Lee Vining where we have dinner and hotel reservations.
